Lulie's Hen Do

No wedding is ever complete without first having a hen do (or bachelorette party for all those American speakers out there)... and boy, we all couldn't wait to plan Lulie's!!!

It all started quite harmlessly with making sure that the bride-to-be is dressed in a different colour and then accessorising her...

... then we stuffed ourselves silly whilst we asked her all the embarrassing questions....

It was a night with lots of singing, lip-synching and screaming...

... lots of drinking...

... lots of pulling silly moves...

... and making new friends! :)

Come to think of it, it was just like any other night at Lulie's!
I hope you had fun that night, Lulie! We all certainly did! :)

Lulie, Lu, Luciana, the jungle-cutter, the naturally crazy Brazilian...

... are just a few names that she's known as... and although we don't call her crazy, we just KNOW that she is!!!

I was introduced to Lulie about 5 years ago after some serious, late afternoon conversations on "deforestation" and the lack of "weeding" skills in the Amsterdam community. After a short phone call away, I finally met her... "So this is the Brazilian woman that everyone talks about", I thought as I awkwardly smiled and introduced myself. But Lulie was a natural at small talk and put me at ease immediately. We chit-chatted about the usual stuffs... our backgrounds, our move to Amsterdam, the weather (or lack of good ones)... and within minutes she's shown me glimpses of her crazy side.

For those of you who know her, have heard her unique laughter. Whether you like it or not, it is one of those laughters that makes you smile, chuckle or cackle and cry till your tummies hurt. In my case, it is always the latter one! So 5 years on, we still chit-chat about our backgrounds, our stay in Amsterdam and the weather AND lack of good ones... the only difference is, I consider myself lucky if I get to see her sane side!!! I've had moments where I thought I could quickly pop by and visit her between errands and ended up staying with her for hours on end, singing, dancing and of course, laughing my ar*e off!

Lulie, you've made me laugh, you've made me cry, you've made me scream, you've made me sing, you've made me dance, you've made me fat, you've made me thin, you've even made me learn Portuguese but best of all, you've made me part of your circle of friends....... coz that means that I can do the same to you! Thank you for all the good times and here's to many more to come! I love you menina! :)

Party "Lulie"

Luciana (aka Lulie) and I met when she first arrived in Holland and like with Ralph it was a love at first sight, just a different type of love...friendship! :o) In these past 5 years of friendship; I can surely say that it will last for a long time, since and commonly known fact; we never manage to finish a conversation. So for sure it would take at least another 5 years to update all the past conversation and certainly another 5 to continue with the new ones! :o) So Lulie, you will be stuck with me for a while! What I really want to say is that I am very happy and super proud of you!
The title of this post, is what you bring, happiness and joy wherever you go! Thank you for existing and being this fantastic friend that you are.
Love you
Rox
